our firm is led by principal glenn rappaport an architect and artist. glenn has grown up in the roaring fork valley and after receiving a bachelor of design and planning from the university of colorado, went on to earn a masters of architecture from southern california institute of architecture in 1986.
glenn founded black shack architects in 1989 and has been practicing in the roaring fork valley for over 20 years.
from its early beginnings in an old dusty coal shack in a back alley of aspen (the black shack), black shack architects has received numerous design awards.
in addition, glenn has continued to serve on several community boards and commissions from aspen to basalt.
